After his elimination with some regrets in the round of 16 of the Toronto Masters 1000 at the hands of Ben Shelton, later winner of the tournament, Flavio Cobolli is ready to return to the court to make his debut in the Cincinnati Masters 1000.

The Roman, 15th seed, will face French qualifier Terence Atamane, world number 136. The match between the two players is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 9, on court 10 where Lorenzo Musetti, engaged with Benjamin Bonzi at 5 p.m. Italian time (11 a.m. local time), will open the dances. Then two women&#8217s matches before the match between Cobolli and Atamane.

There is no precedent between the Blue and the Frenchman.

Cobolli starts widely favored, while Atamane will want to continue to impress after making it through the qualifiers and decisively defeating Japan&#8217s Yoshihito Nishioka in the first round.

“I am very happy to be here. I have a ranking that allows me to give myself more time in the preparation because I skip the first round, being seeded – Cobolli said on the eve of the tournament to Sky Sports. “A lot of things have changed in this tournament from a structural point of view and it is great to be here. I had a good week in Toronto and I think I can express a very good level of tennis. I want to do well”.
