Jannik Sinner happy and aware: the bluebird takes stock of his return to the field

Victorious with a clear 6-1, 6-1 victory over the hapless Daniel Elahi Galan in the second round of the Cincinnati Masters 1000, Jannik Sinner says he is happy with his performance but at the same time aware that more and more difficult challenges await him towards the hoped-for encore in the Ohio tournament he won last year.
“It is not easy to play here – pointed out the’current world number 1 -. The surface is very fast, but I am satisfied with how it went, especially with my serve. I am happy to be back here, the audience is very participative and the atmosphere is beautiful. The heat? You can feel it, I could already feel it before the match, but I knew the conditions would be tough”.
“Today everything went in the right direction: when maybe you don’t close right away, in these conditions, letting the opponent back into the game can be a risk. But in the end it went well, I am happy” Sinner then concluded, speaking to the microphones of the tournament organizers, before the customary tour of the court to greet the fans.
For Sinner today’s is the ninth win in the last ten matches played: under his blows have fallen Yannick Hanfmann in Halle, Luca Nardi, Aleksandar Vukic, Pedro Martinez, Grigor Dimitrov (by withdrawal when the Bulgarian was ahead), Ben Shelton, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon, as well as Galan in Cincinnati. The only knockout was with Alexander Bublik in the third round of the Halle tournament, later won by the Kazakh himself.
