Reduced from six months at Bologna, with one more Coppa Italia in his trophy cabinet, Davide Calabria is ready for a new experience, this time at the extreme. According to reports in the Greek news outlet ‘Sport24’, Panathinaikos is reportedly on the verge of closing the deal with the former Milan captain’s entourage, who is looking for an arrangement for the season that has just begun.

The Pao would thus cover the hole left on the right flank by the departure of Georgios Vagianndis, who has since moved to Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese league. The possibility of a return to European cups is also looming for Calabria, although Panathinaikos must first get past the Europa League preliminaries.

Born in Brescia on December 6, 1996, Davide Calabria grew up in Milan’s youth sector, joining the Rossoneri club as early as 2007, when he was not even 10 years old. He made his debut among the Rossoneri seniors in the 2014-2015 season, wearing the Diavolo’s jersey until January 2025 and wearing the captain’s armband in the meantime.

On February 3, 2025, he was then sold outright to Bologna, with whom he played 11 league games and 2 Coppa Italia matches. With the Rossoblù he won the national cup precisely by beating Milan in the final in Rome, which was solved by Ndoye’s goal in the opening stages of the second half. Calabria has also collected, in his career, 7 national team appearances between 2020 and 2022.
