Brooke Henderson wins and celebrates: "I had been waiting for an'eternity"

“I have been waiting for this fourteenth victory for an eternity. The crowd has been amazing all week, and I cannot thank everyone who came enough. The spectators gave me an incredible charge with all that red and white in the stands. It was truly a special moment”.
Great joy in the words of Canadian Brooke Henderson who triumphed at home in Ontario in the CPKC Women’s Open, as she did in 2018. This was her first victory on the LPGA circuit since January 2023. She was one stroke ahead of Australia’s Minjee Lee.
The North American had started the last round in the lead, paired with Minjee Lee. She eventually finished ahead of the Australian by one stroke, thanks to a final round 67. Brooke built her victory in the final round with three birdies on the last six greens at Mississaugua Golf & Country Club.
