Peace made with Christian Pulisic, AC Milan does not rejoice

Match made between Christian Pulisic and the United States national team. The AC Milan player has been called up by head coach Mauricio Pochettino for the friendlies against South Korea and Japan scheduled for Sept. 6 and 10.

His recruitment comes after he missed the Gold Cup: the forfeit had drawn criticism from two former pillars of the U.S. national team, Landon Donovan and Alexi Lalas, even before the defeat suffered against Mexico in the final (1-2).

The former Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea, 78 appearances, 33 goals in the national team, who last season played fifty games with AC Milan, had chosen not to participate in the North American, Central American and Caribbean championships to rest and recover.

Pulisic, to try to extinguish the controversy, assured that those who questioned his commitment to the national team were completely off the mark. The 1998 class is a key player for Milan: the Rossoneri would have gladly avoided him being used in the two friendlies against the Asians.
