When does Luciano Darderi play at the US Open: background with Carlos Alcaraz

After his four-set victory over the U.S. Eliot Spizzirri, Luciano Darderi faces a very tough obstacle in the third round of the men’s singles at the US Open 2025: none other than Carlos Alcaraz.

A challenge that appears prohibitive for the Italian-Argentinean, world number 34, against the Spaniard, number 2, who in the second round literally humiliated Mattia Bellucci with the unequivocal score of 6-1 6-0 6-3.

6-0 7-6 2-6 6-4 was the score by which Darderi beat Spizzirri, landing in the third round at Flushing Meadows for the first time, after doing the same at Wimbledon.

The match will open the program on the most important court, that of Arthur Ashe Stadium, at 5:30 p.m. Italian time. It will be the first-ever showdown between the two tennis players, who have never met.
