Jannik Sinner, announcement comes for Florence ATP 250.
Jannik Sinner will not be in Florence
Jannik Sinner will also have to forgo the Florence ATP 250. The Azzurro, who was forced to skip this week’s ATP 500 in Astana after his injury in the semifinals in Sofia, will not participate in the Florence tournament either.
He announced this in a post on his social profiles, “It was frustrating to have to withdraw from the Sofia match. I spoke with my doctor and was advised to take a short rest period to allow my ankle to recover. Unfortunately, this means that I will miss the tournament in Florence next week. Missing a tournament in Italy is very painful for me…. However, now is the time to work with my team to come back stronger and hopefully be ready for Vienna and Paris. Thank you for all the messages.”
This further complicates the South Tyrolean tennis player’s chances of qualifying for the ATP Finals in Turin. The San Candido native is currently 12th in the “ATP Race To Turin.”
