ATP 500 Tokyo, Matteo Berrettini’s winning debut

Nice debut for Matteo Berrettini in the ATP 500 on Tokyo’s concrete. The 29-year-old Roman, currently number 56 in the world, beat Spain’s Jaume Munar, number 40, with a score of 6-4 6-2 after just over an hour and a half of play.
Munar saves a break point already in the first game of the match and two consecutive ones in the third, then it is Berrettini who saves from 0-40 in the fourth. Matteo finally makes the break in the fifth game, saves three more break points in the next game, the first two consecutive, and finally in the next two turnovers of the partial he takes no more risks.
