Olimpia: another Euroleague double-header, Messina takes injury count

Archived the beautiful home win (the first of the season) against Reyer Venezia, Olimpia Milano is preparing for a new double midweek round in the Euroleague. The red-and-whites are expected to play a delicate away game on the court of Barcelona on Tuesday and, two days later, a home confrontation with Paris.

The situation in the Euroleague is not exciting. L’Olimpia has won only two of the six games played to date. It needs, consequently, to turn things around so as not to risk straying too far from the play-off zone. The problem is that Coach Messina is grappling with several major absences, especially in the long division.

At the moment, Nebo, LeDay and even Diop are in the pits as far as the longs are concerned. Not to forget Brown, that is, the team’s starting director. In short, not exactly a pleasant situation to deal with.

In the post match of the challenge with Reyer Venezia, the coach of the biancorossi took stock of the injured: “How is Diop? A slight elongation. He has not strained, it should be something similar to Shields when he was out a week. I don’t think he will be in the next two games, I hope to have him next Sunday. No injury or blood was seen in the MRI and fortunately nothing was broken. LeDay and Nebo are training, we will see if either of them can return for Reggio” his words in the press conference.
