Serie A: one disqualified after weekend round, six clubs fined

At the conclusion of the ten matches of the eighth round of Serie A, the sporting judge of the top league, Gerardo Mastrandrea, sanctioned with one round of disqualification only Emil Holm, the Swedish defender of Bologna, who was expelled at the 83’83’ of Sunday&#8217s match against Fiorentina (2-2 the final result) following a double admonition.

On the other hand, six clubs have been fined, all for intemperance in the stands: they are Napoli, Roma, Cremonese, Juventus, Sassuolo and Hellas Verona. Below are the individual reasons and the’amount of each penalty, as reported in the statement released on Monday by Lega Serie A.

“Fine of € 8,000.00: to Soc. NAPOLI for having its supporters, during the match, throwing some plastic bottles in a sector occupied by the supporters of the opposing team and four smoke bombs in the playing area; attenuated penalty ex art. 29, paragraph 1 letter b) CGS”.

“Fine of € 5,000.00: to Soc. ROMA for having its supporters, at the 31st of the first half, throw some smoke bombs on the field of play that, in one case, forced the referee to suspend the match for about thirty seconds; attenuated sanction ex art. 29, paragraph 1 lett. b) CGS”.

“Fine of € 4,000.00: to Soc. CREMONESE for having its supporters, at the 34th of the second half, launched into the playing area, a smoke bomb that forced the’Referee to interrupt the match for about thirty seconds, for having also, at the’11th of the second half, launched two plastic cups on the playing area; penalty mitigated ex art. 29, paragraph 1 lett. b) CGS”.

“Fine of € 2,000.00: to Soc. JUVENTUS for having its supporters, at the 9th of the first half, thrown a lighter into the playing area; penalty mitigated ex art. 29, paragraph 1 lett. b) CGS”.

“Fine of € 2,000.00: to Soc. SASSUOLO for having its supporters, during the match, thrown five plastic cups into the playing area; penalty mitigated ex art. 29, paragraph 1 lett. b) CGS”.

“Fine of € 1,500.00: to Soc. HELLAS VERONA for having its supporters, during the course of the match, thrown a plastic bottle into the playing area; attenuated sanction ex art. 29, paragraph 1 lett. b) CGS”.
