L'Atalanta recovers Milan thanks to Lookman: Allegri brakes again

A draw that satisfies no one: the second advance of the ninth day of Serie A between Atalanta and Milan ended 1-1. The Rossoneri, immediately ahead through Ricci, were caught up by Lookman: the Diavolo, on their third draw in four matches, rises to 18 points, -3 from Napoli in the lead. Dea, on the other hand, stumbled into its fifth consecutive draw and is sixth at 13 points.
The match opened with a cold goal by Ricci, who as early as 4′ found the lead for the Rossoneri: on the development of a corner, the former Torino man ventured on a short rebound by Ahanor and from outside the box blasted a shot that slotted into the net thanks to Ederson’s decisive deflection. Juric’s team took the initiative in hand but on 20′ had to suffer another tile, the injury of captain De Roon, who was replaced by Brescianini. The hosts turn up the pressure and are dangerous with Lookman and especially Ahanor on 28′, who shoots high in front of Maignan.
At 34′ comes the orobici’s equalizer: Pasalic finds Lookman in the box who with a left-footed shot puts the ball under the’cross of the posts finding the 1-1. For the Nigerian it is the return to goal after five months.
The second half immediately opened with a surprise, Nkunku replacing Rafael Leao, disappointing in the first 45′. Atalanta seemed more on the ball and created more dangers with Bernasconi and the former De Ketelaere’s goal. Allegri decides to make a change and removes Gimenez, inserting Loftus-Cheek in his place: the Englishman himself has two chances at 66′ and 67′; but the Bergamasque defense saves.
Fatigue takes its toll and the pace is lower in the finale. Atalanta looked more persistently for the winning goal, and at’85’ created another great chance with Zappacosta, repelled by an excellent intervention by Maignan, and then with former Musah, who was closed down by Gabbia.
The team was not able to win the game.
