Reyer Venezia announced in a press release the contract extension of Amedeo Tessitori, captain of the Orogranata: “Umana Reyer Venezia is proud to announce the contract renewal of its captain, Amedeo ‘Tex’ Tessitori. A 207-centimeter, 107-kg center born in Pisa on October 7, 1994, Amedeo is set to play his fifth season with the orange-and-gold, reaffirming his status as a pillar and the beating heart of the Venetian roster.”

“With 226 games already played in a Reyer jersey, Tessitori has become the 11th player in Reyer history in terms of appearances. A captain by virtue of his charisma and attitude, ‘Tex’ has forged a special bond with Reyer fans. Fans appreciate his kindness and approachability off the court, which contrast beautifully with the fierce determination and inexhaustible will to win he brings to the court—qualities with which he has inspired the team and the entire arena.”

“The most recent Serie A season (2025/2026) showcased Tessitori’s maturity, as he was able to elevate his performance at the most critical moment of the year, during the championship playoffs: Regular Season: his usual solid and efficient performance in an average of 14.6 minutes, with 8.2 points and 4.6 total rebounds per game. MVP-caliber playoffs: In the 13 postseason games, the captain significantly increased his playing time (19.9 minutes) and his offensive output, averaging 12.8 points on 66.3% shooting from the field and, above all, dominating the boards with a staggering average of 3.5 offensive rebounds per game (6.8 total rebounds). His playoff performances earned him the award for “Best Italian Player of the Postseason.”

“Tessitori’s impact was also felt on the international stage. Over his four European seasons, all played with Reyer, Amedeo made a total of 72 appearances in the EuroCup, scoring 566 points, grabbing 286 rebounds, and cementing his status as a top-tier big man on the continental stage.”
