NBA, Russell Westbrook preferred $47.1 million
Westbrook was a nine-time All-Star and NBA Most Valuable Player 2017
In the end, Westbrook chose not to risk it. The All-Star, according to ESPN, decided to exercise his player option with the Los Angeles Lakers (all that’s missing is the official announcement) and, as a result, take home a cool $47.1 million for next season.
The nine-time All-Star and 2017 NBA Most Valuable Player will, therefore, enter the final season of his original five-year $206 million contract with LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers. No trade (at least for now). There had been talk of his possible landing on the Indiana Pacers as well. His last season in the yellowviola was decidedly negative.
