Luciano Spalletti has warned Juventus: he wants a regista under the Christmas tree. The Bianconeri coach has long been asking for a player capable of dictating the timing of the game in midfield and giving order to the team, capable of playing both in a module with a three-man defense and in the 4-2-3-1 that the Tuscan coach has in mind in the future. The overt target is Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, already sought at length in the summer by the Bianconeri but then faded away: in January, the Old Lady will try a new assault.

The relations between Marseille and Juventus are excellent, but at the moment OM coach Roberto De Zerbi doesn’t want to hear about it: the Danish midfielder is a key man for the French team, and a major economic effort will be needed to convince the transalpines to do without the player. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri could also include in the negotiation the tag of Manuel Locatelli, already coached by De Zerbi at Sassuolo and not central in Spalletti’s future plans.

Hojbjerg is the number one target but Juve has other names on its list for the midfield. Among them is Xaver Schlager, a 1997 class Leipzig midfielder who can play in multiple roles in the midfield. The player is set to expire in 2026 on a zero-parameter deal and the Juventus club intends to lock him down in January. Schlager is an all-rounder who can also play as a trequartista, and has an estimated market value of around 10 million euros. He had a serious knee injury in 2024 but has since made a full recovery, so much so that in recent games he has regained his starting place in Leipzig.

On the exit front, the spotlight is back on Dusan Vlahovic. AC Milan is back on’the Serbian striker, a longtime favorite of Massimiliano Allegri, free on a zero-parameter basis next summer.
