Niclas Fullkrug, waiver to debut as early as against Cagliari pops up

Bureaucracy seemed destined to postpone Niclas Fullkrug’s debut, but in the end Max Allegri will be able to count on the German striker already for the first match of the new year. Indeed, on January 2, in the match between Cagliari and Milan, the former Borussia Dortmund center forward will be available to the Rossoneri coach. All that is missing now is the officialdom: the agreement with West Ham and that with the player’s entourage have been finalized for days. We will have to wait for the official opening of the winter market, set precisely for January 2, to complete the exchange of documents between the clubs and deposit the contract that will make Fullkrug to all intents and purposes a new Milan player.
Initially, the technical timing of the signing hinted at a delayed debut, with the striker forced to miss the trip to Sardinia and postpone his debut at the San Siro against Genoa on Jan. 8. In the last few hours, however, an unexpected turnaround has arrived: the FIGC has granted the Lega Serie A’s request to shorten the timeframe for signing new players. It will be enough to deposit the contract by 4 p.m. on Jan. 2 for Fullkrug to take the field against Cagliari.
A waiver granted to ensure equal treatment for all Serie A teams. Milan and Cagliari, in fact, by opening the 18th day with the Friday advance, risked being penalized compared to the other formations, which would have had more time to register new signings.
