Adrien Rabiot, scudetto pact with messages to Leao and Maignan

Adrien Rabiot gave a long interview to Sky, also explaining what went wrong in the Super Cup, with the defeat against Napoli in the semifinals, and not only that, given the points lost to the small ones in the league: “We make mistakes at the mental level the’approach of the matches, maybe we relax a little bit’ too much thinking also that we have already done something great. In the end you can pay for this, so we have to try to regain this solidity and try to maintain the same level against all teams”.

Inevitable a question about RafaLeao: “It is fair to say that he has potential: he is strong, he&#8217s proven it. But from what I saw when I arrived now, he has already changed. At the level of the attitude on the field already there&#8217s something different and it all starts from here: he has to maintain that. He is a player with a lot of quality and we know it well: he has to keep growing. Then it depends on him, at the very mental level, to understand where he wants to go”.

Maignan’s renewal is also on the table at Milan: “He also spoke to me three, four years ago: he tried to get me to come to Milan. He is a friend but above all he is a strong player, very strong: goalkeepers like that are few in the world of soccer. Then on everything that there’s around that I don&#8217t enter, but as a Milan player obviously I hope he stays because he is difficult to replace. There are the things we tell each other, of course, but there isn&#8217t a player who doesn&#8217t want to keep him in the team, he has the trust and esteem of all his teammates: he is loved by everyone because he is a real person. We need him, we have seen in this beginning of the season what he can do, how he can also decide games. I don’t know what will happen but he has been at Milan for so many years and he is someone who matters for the club and for its history”.

Closing on the Scudetto: “Finishing in the top four is the club&#8217s overall goal and we know that. Personally, I am aiming for something bigger, because it is not that if you can get ten you can settle for six or seven. It is not impossible. What I say and what I also say to others is that we have to have the mentality of wanting to go even higher”.

“We have to make our less experienced teammates understand how good it is to win. Here at Milan it is even more so. I don’t have tattoos but I might get one if we win the championship.
