One of Juventus&#8217s most underrated stars could leave the Bianconeri club and Italy in the summer. Weston McKennie is expiring on his contract with the Serie A club, and his agents have not yet reached an agreement with Turin club officials to extend him for another season.

Battered in the past, McKennie has become under Luciano Spalletti one of Juventus’ staples: always a starter, he is decisive with goals, assists and for his versatility that allows him to play in multiple positions on the field, making up for the gaps in Spalletti’s squad. His performances are attracting the’attention of several European clubs, and in June he could be released on a zero-parameter basis.

The U.S. player is willing to stay but his demand is clear: he wants double his current salary (2.5 million euros) and is not willing to discount. On his trail are several English and German clubs: a return to Germany, where he played for three seasons in the ranks of Schalke 04, is not at all ruled out.

McKennie wants a club that plays the Champions League, and that will meet his demand for a 5 million euro salary. Interested clubs could include Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund or Bayer Leverkusen, which are enticed to acquire his tag for free.

“I am ready for anything for this shirt, even to play in goal. I play where the coach wants me” he said in a recent interview. “The renewal? This is something between Juventus and my agent. I have to think only about the field and my agent will think about the renewal”.
