Former Juventus outfielder Eljero Elia, currently at Feyenoord, was arrested for possible involvement in a brawl in Rotterdam last Thursday. The 29-year-old player, summoned by police to be heard, did not convince investigators and was detained at the barracks.
The club would not confirm the news, which came from Elijah’s lawyer to De Telegraaf: the player allegedly reacted to a slap while in a club after playing the League Cup semifinal against AZ.
Elia wore the Bianconeri jersey in the 2011/2012 season, Antonio Conte’s first, racking up just five appearances and zero goals.
