Novak Djokovic qualified to the third round of the Australian Open with more fears than expected after beating the American Frances Tiafoe on the score of 6-3 6-7 7-6 6-3 after more than three and a half hours of play. After the match on Eurosport the Serbian tennis player explained his problems as follows, “I couldn’t get past him on the backhand side and that led me to change my tactics a bit. I was not happy with the way I played in the second and third sets, but the serve got me out of trouble. I had a lot of break points and I had to take advantage of them, but credit must be given to him and how he played. In the fourth set I played better and the conditions also changed with the arrival of the shade, because in the sun I struggled.”
Nole finished with 26 aces: “I worked a lot with Goran Ivanisevic on my serve, he helped and advised me a lot. The court is very fast and it is definitely the fastest in the last fifteen years in Melbourne, so you are obliged to serve well.”
