F1, rebirth in Canada: Lewis Hamilton explains what has changed
A finally convincing evidence that has an explanation.
On the friendly Montreal circuit (where he has won seven times, including achieving the first Formula 1 success of his career), Lewis Hamilton is back on the podium. He deserves credit for third place at the Canadian Grand Prix, helped by the problems of Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez, but also by a Mercedes finally on the upswing.
The long-standing problems of porpoising, the hopping that even physical problems have caused him in this 2022, seem less serious than in the past. Hamilton himself has openly talked about it, explaining what changed in Canada. “In Azerbaijan we had to deal with a force of 10 Gs, in Montreal they went down to 2 or maximum 3. At times we were as fast as Red Bull and Ferrari, and for the first time this year I was able to see the leaders through to the end,” the seven-time world champion explained, as reported by ‘Auto Motor und Sport’.
