Lewis Hamilton after a promising day of free practice for the British GP is under no illusions despite finishing just a tenth behind Sainz: “We made some important strides because we’re usually not among the best on Fridays, but I suspect the gaps from Ferrari and Red Bull on Sunday will be higher.”
“Today’s work was encouraging, we usually have a half-second gap to them. There is still work to be done, porpoising is difficult at high speed and hopefully the updates have gone in the right direction,” added the British driver.
