Mick Schumacher, Mika Hakkinen’s touching compliments

Michael Schumacher’s longtime rival also congratulated the seven-time world champion’s son, who scored points for the first time

Big celebration at the Haas box at Silverstone after Mick Schumacher scored his first points in Formula 1. Also congratulating the son of seven-time world champion Michael was Mika Hakkinen, his father’s longtime rival, who smilingly shook his hand for his eighth-place finish in the British Grand Prix.

“We are very happy, I had said that we had the right speed to be able to go up again, and today we proved it,” Schumacher explained. “It’s a very good thing for the team, a double points finish which, of course, is very useful for the constructors’ championship. As for me, I’m happy now to be able to concentrate on what’s really important, which is racing and driving.”
