“He is already a top player, I see in him a bit of my game,” so Djokovic on Sinner.

Novak Djokovic after his victory in the round of 16 against Van Rijthoven put Jannik Sinner, his Wimbledon quarterfinal opponent, in his sights: “Jannik is very talented, he is already certainly a top-player, I have seen him play on different surfaces and he has matured a lot. He also doesn’t seem to suffer from the pressure on the big stages–which can happen to younger players. He has confidence in his own chances, he thinks he can win against anyone, and that is important. He is already an experienced tennis player despite being so young, he has already faced more than one top-player,” are the words reported by Ubitennis.

On the match played by the South Tyrolean with Alcaraz: “I saw him play today, his performance was dominant in the first two sets. Then it became a closer battle. But he was always in control of the match. He is very solid, he has all the shots; serve, response, forehand, backhand. He puts pressure on his opponents all the time. I see in him a little bit of my game. From the backcourt flat backhands, right after the baseline — it will be a complicated match for both of us. He plays fast, he likes the pace. We have practiced together a few times. I know what to expect. But I will be ready for this challenge.”
