Gianluigi Donnarumma, comes a clear message from PSG’s new coach
Galtier promises to establish clear hierarchies
A starter and a deputy, for precise hierarchies between the posts from the beginning of the season. This is the promise of Christophe Galtier, the new coach of Paris Saint-Germain, who thus puts an end to the “double titularity” of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Keylor Navas decided by former coach Mauricio Pochettino, and which had created some friction at the locker room level.
It remains to be determined, then, which will be the starting goalkeeper for the reigning French champions. Donnarumma starts favored, also because of a contractual issue: his agreement with PSG expires in 2026 and therefore renewal discussions are far away, while it is quite different for the Costa Rican, whose contract expires in 2024 and he may already be looking around.
Galtier said he will confirm the hierarchies in time for the start of Ligue 1, which starts in a month with PSG engaged at home to Clermont.
