New point guard for Lombard club

Germani Brescia made official on Thursday the arrival in Lombardy of Troy Caupain, a 26-year-old point guard from Darussafaka.

“The signing of Troy represents a very good blow for us,” general manager Marco De Benedetto told the club’s channels, “because the player, despite being still young, has shown over the years that he always knows how to make progress. Troy has been a teammate on two occasions and in different situations with John Petrucelli, and this is a plus for us. He brings gifts of mental toughness, which positively affects his game, and his teams have achieved important seasons, including from a results standpoint, wherever he has been. Troy is absolutely capable of holding the keys to the team in his hands and will be tasked with setting his teammates in motion. We are very charged and excited about him joining our program.”

“Troy is a player with great European experience,” added Alessandro Magro, coach of Germani Brescia. “He has already done well in the last two seasons, both in Ulm, where he played with John Petrucelli, and at Darussafaka, where he had a good regular season in the Turkish league and an excellent Champions League. He is eager to reappear in an important competition like the EuroCup and has accepted our offer with great enthusiasm. Troy will bring great physicality to the team, also considering his physical size and his great attitude to be impactful in the defensive half boss. He is a team man and I am sure he will be able to integrate himself into our system of play, bringing his excellent characteristics both in the scoring phase and in the game-building phase, given his ability to pass the ball. We are happy that he has accepted our offer, we look forward to starting to work together and getting him into our system, and we look forward to him helping the team take a step forward and be competitive in both tournaments we are going to face.”
