Honda: for Alberto Puig there is the Marc Marquez problem
Only one podium so far in 2022
Honda continues to experience its own difficult time in MotoGP. Zero wins in the first half of 2022, with only one podium finish by Pol Espargaró on his debut in Qatar.
Team manager Alberto Puig spoke about the bike’s problems to Speedweek.com, “We don’t have to start over, but it is clear that we are not where we should be,” so the Spaniard. “We understand the problems, but we need time to be able to solve them. This is the reality.”
For Puig among the big problems is certainly the prolonged absence of Marc Marquez, who won three races in 2021: “It’s difficult to find a solution, we just have to keep trying,” he added. “If your top rider is injured for two years and you can’t develop the bike it certainly has a negative impact.
