James Toseland, backstory on Valentino Rossi: “I will never forget him.”
Two-time World Superbike champion Toseland on Valentino Rossi: “It was a special feeling to see him disappear after three turns…”
Two-time Sbk world champion James Toseland in an interview with Crash.net recalled what it was like to face Valentino Rossi in 2008 and 2009, when the British rider raced for two years in MotoGp before returning to Superbike. Back then the Doctor was at the peak of his career: “I raced against Valentino at Phillip Island and Sepang two tracks where I had never raced. My God, I will never forget that.”
“I’ll never forget the feeling of not being able to see him already after three corners at Sepang,” Toseland confessed, “And to come within half a second of those guys on a track where I had never raced…. Will Razgatlioglu have as much difficulty as me if he goes to MotoGp? I didn’t add up how many tracks Toprak hasn’t raced at, but it must be six or seven, as it was for me. It’s not easy, it’s a major disadvantage.”
