Tour de France, Pogacar shaken: “I don’t know what happened.”
Former yellow jersey hunting for redemption after a bad day in the Tour de France
Tadej Pogacar, who collapsed resoundingly in the Alpine stage of the Tour de France, is licking his wounds after losing the yellow jersey to Jonas Vingegaard: “I was bombarded all day by the attacks of Jumbo-Visma, today they were great in their team tactics. They had a very good race, and for me the last climb of the day was really hard.”
On his slump: “I really don’t know what was the reason for my slowdown. I didn’t have a good condition for the finish, I had to really fight until the finish. Did I not eat enough? Was I too attacked by the Jumbos? I don’t know. Maybe it’s a little bit of everything. This was really not my best day. We’ll see tomorrow at Alpe d’Huez if I can do better than today. I am not giving up yet. I will fight until the end so that I have no regrets. I certainly know that I will keep fighting: we know that the Tour is not over yet and we will fight until Paris,” are the words reported by Oasport.
