Fabio Fognini got off on the right foot in the tournament in Hamburg, Germany.

The Ligurian beat Slovenian Aljaz Bedene with a score of 6-3 3-6 7-6 (5) in two and a half hours of play. For the Italian in the round of 16 is a challenge with Russian Karen Khachanov.

Fognini took advantage of 2 of the 3 break points he had but more importantly, he cancelled 6 of the 8 he conceded. The second serve was decisive, with which the Italian won 24 points out of 44 while the Slovenian won 20 out of 44.
