Genoa, sudden shake-up in management
Genoa, change in management
Change in the top management of Genoa.
German Johannes Spors, who has served as general manager in the Genoa club’s organizational chart since January, has been relieved of his duties.
Replacing the German executive will be Marco Ottolini as the Grifone’s new sporting director. The former Juventus executive comes from years at Anderlecht as head of international scouting and, indeed, from recent seasons with the Juventus club.
“Genoa CFC announces that Marco Ottolini is the new Sporting Director of the first team. In his last experience Ottolini held the position of Loan Players Manager for Juventus FC, a club for which he also handled relations with foreign clubs. He previously worked in the International Scouting Department for RSC Anderlecht in Belgium. Concurrently, 777 Partners and Genoa CFC announce that Johannes Spors will assume the position of Group Sporting Director for 777 Football Group. In this newly created position, Spors will oversee all of the group’s sporting operations, reporting to 777 Football Group CEO Don Dransfield and working closely with the Sporting Directors of each 777 Football Group club. President Zangrillo, CEO Blazquez and the entire Genoa CFC thank #Spors and welcome Director Ottolini, wishing him well in his work at Italy’s oldest club,” reads the Ligurian club’s note.
