Tortu’s personal best was, in fact, three thousandths worse than that of Canadian Brown who, therefore, flew into the final at the expense of the unfortunate Italian champion. “I did a comeback race, too bad for the last 10 meters when I felt that the tank was empty. I was less fresh than in the battery. Now the 4×100 awaits us, we can do well even without Jacobs.
