U.S. Cremonese announced that it has acquired the right to the sports performance of Charles Pickel permanently from Famalicao FC.
Born in Solothurn, Switzerland, on May 15, 1997, a midfielder, Pickel entered the youth academy of his hometown team at a very young age and then moved to Basel. With the red-blue club he got to make his debut in the Swiss top league (3 games) and then moved to Grasshoppers, also in the Super League. After a season at Schaffhausen in the Challenge League, Pickel returned to the Swiss Serie A wearing the jersey of Neuchatel Xamax (26 games, 2 goals). In 2019, the Swiss midfielder moved to Grenoble, French Ligue 2, where he stayed until 2021/22 when he moved to Portugal, to Famalicao: a very positive experience with the Lusitanians ended with 28 appearances and one assist in the Primeira Liga. Pickel also boasts 20 appearances with the Swiss youth national team.
