F1, Carlos Sainz sends message to rivals
Ten penalty positions already certain
Carlos Sainz was fastest of all in the second free practice of the French GP in his Ferrari, ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc.
The Spaniard was very pleased with the F1-75’s performance: “It was a good Friday, I didn’t do so many qualifying simulation laps, however, the car was super today, very competitive,” Sainz explained after practice. “This shows that the direction we are taking is the right one.
Very unlikely, however, the Ferrarista will be able to fight for victory, given the ten-place grid penalty already certain. However, Sainz is expected to start from the back of the grid. “Tomorrow we will focus more on the long run,” he added. “There is work to be done on race simulation but what we have done is encouraging.
