Legabasket, next season’s calendar made official
Official regular season schedule
The Basketball League has made official the calendar for the 2022-23 UnipolSai Serie A Regular Season.
After last season’s great turnaround, the asymmetrical calendar is continued, which features the return round different from the first round: a novelty introduced with the aim of ensuring greater flexibility and spectacularity during the season.
It begins Sunday, Oct. 2, with the first round, preceded by the Super Cup scheduled in Brescia on Wednesday, Sept. 28 and Thursday, Sept. 29, with the participation of EA7 Emporio Armani Olimpia Milano, Virtus Segafredo Bologna, Bertram Yachts Derthona Tortona and Banco di Sardegna Sassari.
For the Italian champions of EA7 Emporio Armani Olimpia Milano, it will start with a challenge that will see one of the new additions to Olimpia’s roster, Nazareth Mitrou-Long, immediately take on his former team, Germani Brescia.
The two newly promoted Tezenis Verona and Givova Scafati, who have been missing from Serie A since 2001-02 and 2007-08 respectively, will debut the former at home with Happy Casa Brindisi and the latter on the court of Reyer Venezia.
Two Monday dates are scheduled during the holiday season: Dec. 26 and Jan. 2. The Milan-Varese derby and the classics Pesaro-Bologna and Venice-Sassari stand out in the round on the 26th, while on January 2 the re-enactment of the last Scudetto final between EA7 Emporio Armani Milano and Virtus Segafredo Bologna will be staged on the court of the Bologna club. In the same round the Veneto derby between Treviso and Venezia and the Campania derby between newly promoted Scafati and Napoli, which returns after 15 years (the last one was played in the 2007-08 season).
In the return leg, Milan and Bologna will face each other on the seventh day scheduled for March 19 in Milan. Also in the return leg, the only midweek game on the calendar is scheduled for Wednesday, April 19.
