F1, Max Verstappen puts his hands out.
Won seven out of 12 races this year
Max Verstappen arrived in Hungary with an impressive 63-point championship lead over Charles Leclerc. The Red Bull Dutchman has won seven races so far, but he doesn’t think the eighth could come in Budapest.
In fact, on Thursday’s Hungarian GP, Verstappen admitted that he thinks Ferrari is favored: “I think it will be harder for us, especially on the dry lap. I don’t expect a disaster, but Ferrari will be super strong on this circuit, they will be favored,” so the Dutchman. However, we don’t know perfectly what the weather will be like and this may affect the result.
Verstappen wants to keep pushing despite the large lead: “I always look for perfection every weekend, I don’t relax.” He also commented on the announcement of Sebastian Vettel’s retirement, “He has achieved a lot and is a great ambassador for Formula 1,” he said. “It’s never nice when this moment comes, but it’s time for him to devote himself to his family.
