Marco Cecchinato wins Umag derby: beats Lorenzo Musetti
The Italian derby goes to marco Cecchinato
Marco Cecchinato advances to the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 in Umag, overcoming friend and compatriot Lorenzo Musetti in two sets. The Palermo-based tennis player closed the match with a score of 6-4 6-3.
The match began with a good start by Cecchinato, who immediately hoisted himself up 2-0 but was then taken back and, even, overtaken 3-2 by rival Musetti. From this moment on, the Sicilian tennis player rifilata a partial seven games to one against the Carrara player, closing 6-4 in the first set and going ahead 3-0 in the second partial. On the strength of the break advantage, it was business as usual for Marco to close the match, with the last games literally flying by.
Very good Cecchinato, definitely more inspired today, to have taken advantage of a dull and probably tired version of the young Tuscan talent.
