F1, Charles Leclerc leads everyone in FP2 at Hungaroring: only fourth Verstappen
Leclerc’s car showed its superiority both on the long run and in view of official practice.
While waiting to see if rain – which would upset all the balances – will really fall on Saturday, Ferrari is making its voice heard on the very dry and very hot Hungaroring track, the scene of the second free practice session. Charles Leclerc leads the ranks by setting the fastest time with a 1:18.445, showing great confidence on medium tires. Also good was the performance of Carlos Sainz, third. Surprising were the two McLarens of Norris and Ricciardo, third and fifth respectively, while Max Verstappen appeared to be struggling, finishing fourth at 283 thousandths from the Monegasque. Disappointing were the two Mercedes cars of Russell and Hamilton, who finished eighth and 11th.
