Women’s water polo Azzurre overwhelmed Slovakia in European Championships debut
Italy’s overwhelming start at the women’s water polo European Championships underway in Split. The Setterosa team beat Slovakia on their debut in Group B with the eloquent result of 26-1.
Everything was easy for Carlo Silipo’s Azzurre, who closed the first quarter 6-1, the second period 14-1, the third at 18-1, until the 8 goals in the last partial that fixed the result at 26-1. The top scorer was Palmieri with 5 goals, hat tricks for Avegno, Bianconi, Giustini and Marletta, doubles for Cocchiere, Bettini, Viacava and Picozzi, 1 in goal for Tabani.
The next challenge of ours will be much tougher: there is Spain, which ridiculed Serbia 32-3.
