Kyrgios is in the quarterfinals of the US Open. The Australian plays a spectacular match and manages to eliminate the No. 1 seed in the tournament, namely Medvedev. The Australian won in four sets: 7-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 were the match’s partials in favor of the 27-year-old Canberra-born tennis player. Now, on the Australian’s way is Khachanov who, at the end of a real marathon, eliminated Carreno Busta.
Double mockery for Medvedev. In addition to losing to Kyrgios for the second time in a month, he will have to say goodbye to the No. 1 title in world tennis. Just who will take his place between Nadal, Alcaraz and Ruud, all still in play at the US Open, remains to be seen.
