Cremonese stoppages Atalanta: 1-1 in Bergamo, leaders reached
No more solo primacy.
Atalanta forced to a draw at home by Cremonese, able to come back at the Gewiss Stadium and collect a 1-1 of great weight to revive their salvation prospects. In the final the two goals, signed by Merih Demiral and Emanuele Valeri.
A contracted start to the match for Atalanta, which only after about 20 minutes took the field without however managing to unlock the result. On the contrary, after trembling on a Muriel initiative Cremonese tried with Escalante (well done Musso). The only real further thrill before halftime was a vague free kick by Koopmeiners.
Entirely different game in the second half, with Bergamo screaming for the lead as early as 64 minutes after a winning free kick this time by the usual Koopmeiners. However, the Var cancelled out for a hand by Okoli. Little bad for the Dea, as in the 74th minute Demiral’s framed shot was worth the long-awaited goal for the lone lead. Undoing it all, however, was Valeri’s tap-in in the 78th minute, on Ascacibar’s shot from distance that was poorly controlled by Musso.
Atalanta now still leads Serie A, but tied on points with Napoli and Milan. Cremonese climbs to 2 points, still in the midst of the relegation zone.
