Milan makes no mistake and drops the hat trick: Dinamo Zagreb ko
Milan makes it three at Dinamo Zagreb
After a draw at home to Salzburg, the second outing in the 2022/23 Champions League is a good one for AC Milan, who beat Dinamo Zagreb 3-1 at the San Siro, at the end of a match that was nonetheless complex in some sections.
Leading the Rossoneri, at the end of a first half with unexceptional rhythms, is the usual Olivier Giroud, who right at minute 45 converted a penalty kick awarded for Sutalo’s foul on Rafael Leao. The resumption starts even better for the Rossoneri: it is again Leao who inspires, with a precise cross for Alexis Saelemaekers’ header that beats Livakovic for 2-0 when the second minute has not yet passed.
Trying to manage the double advantage, however, Milan got surprised and conceded the opponent’s goal in the 56th minute: great play in the box by Petkovic serving Mislav Orsic, who was good at getting past Maignan and reopening the match. Those who feared a backlash were proved wrong, however, in the 77th minute: Theo Hernandez was impregnable and coming down the field served Tommaso Pobega in the center of the box, who scored with a conclusion under the crossbar for his first goal in a Rossoneri shirt.
It thus ends 3-1 for Milan, which moves to four points in Champions League Group E.
