Giovanni Galeone pulls the ears of his protégé Massimiliano Allegri

Reached by Gazzetta dello Sport, Giovanni Galeone had his say on the difficult moment Juventus is going through: “I said it in the summer and I repeat it today: the full Juventus team, with Di Maria, Chiesa, Pogba and the others injured is a mediocre team. Without it you go even lower and you can make figures like the one with Benfica. Paredes, who was talked about as if he were a champion, does not look like Pirlo to me. Then we go to the present: the players available are these net of injuries, but it is clear that what we are seeing cannot be enough.”

The former coach also spoke about Massimiliano Allegri: “If we want to reproach anything to Max we have to go back first of all to the market choices. I expected him to make his voice heard more on purchases and disposals; instead, it doesn’t seem to have happened… we would need the first Max seen at Juve, the one who had strokes of genius and extraordinary readings on matches and players. Instead, I see that the plot of the Bianconeri is always the same and I don’t like it.”

Giovanni Galeone coached Napoli from 1997-1998 and won four promotions to Serie A.
