Carlos Alcaraz, surprise words about Jannik Sinner
A great rival, of the present and the future, who, however, glides over the great challenge for the time being.
Carlos Alcaraz, in the days of the Davis Cup, returns to talk in an interview for ‘CGNT’ about his march to the US Open. Indeed, the Spaniard won the tournament, beating among others Jannik Sinner in a match that has already entered history. On which, however, the person directly involved preferred to gloss over.
“The most difficult moment of the US Open, for me, was not the quarterfinal match against Jannik Sinner. In fact, whatever people say, I suffered more in the semifinals against Frances Tiafoe,” Alcaraz said in fact. Who also dwelt on the final jubilation at Flushing Meadows: “I had not prepared for it, I simply had the adrenaline pumping and threw myself to the ground after winning.”
Finally, the comparison with Rafa Nadal. “I try to avoid comparisons, to just be myself and make my career following my own path. Then to be compared to one of the best, like Nadal, is always nice,” Alcaraz said.
