Marc Marquez, Alberto Puig stunned and peremptory
Repsol Honda team manager returns to the Motorland Aragon race
Marc Marquez’s race at Aragon, his first since returning after his long stop, certainly did not end the way he hoped, but Alberto Puig has no doubts about the goodness of the number 93’s decision, declaring himself astounded by his ability to get back in the saddle after his fourth arm operation.
“The feeling is that he felt good riding the bike,” are Puig’s words collected by ‘Marca’. The most important thing is that Marc is back riding, the recovery process also goes from here. Racing to recover definitely, this is the goal of the last races: he has to get back to his true form.”
Marquez’s race, however, lasted very little: “What happened was a race incident,” Puig said, peremptorily. “Marc started very well, but then he had a bit of a scare and the rear wheel skidded causing contact with Fabio Quartararo. Unfortunately, he was very close, so contact was inevitable. In turn, Marc started to have this problem with the rear and after Turn 5 he couldn’t even keep the bike straight: and behind was Nakagami…”
“Marc couldn’t keep the bike straight because of the problem with the rear,” the former rider added. “Unfortunately, Taka was very close, they touched and he fell. It was a race accident, very unfortunate for all three riders.”
