It’s rain chaos at Motegi, with the weather forecast having turned out to be right. The weather, by the way, has been changing all the time, preventing any kind of certain planning.
Saturday’s schedule was disrupted due to a heavy thunderstorm. The third and final practice session was cancelled. MotoGP qualifying was scheduled to start at 9 a.m., an hour later than had been planned, but the start slipped again due to the still dangerous track conditions: centaurs had previously faced situations that were not easy.
The safety car was often on the track to check the conditions of the asphalt: with the track very wet, the greatest risk is water planning.
