The words of Davide Tardozzi

Pecco Bagnaia could graduate as world champion as early as this weekend, but Davide Tardozzi remains focused and especially doesn’t want to hear about team play among Ducatistas.

He reiterated this on the MotoGP podcast, “I have read and heard so many things. In Misano Bastianini would have been a team player when he came in behind Pecco by a very small margin; Miller won in Japan; in Aragon Enea won; Zarco? That was his decision, dictated by not risking too much overtaking Bagnaia, which not even Marquez had managed to do. Of course, our indication was for all Ducati riders to avoid excessive risks, but that doesn’t mean telling a rider what to do and what not to do. There is freedom, but we are certainly not stupid!”

Francesco, aka ‘Pecco,’ Bagnaia after winning the Moto2 world championship in 2018 with Sky Racing Team VR46, will make his MotoGpin debut in 2019 riding the Ducati of Team Pramac Racing. In September 2020, he scored his first podium in the top MotoGP category at Misano. The following year he switched to the official Ducati team and finished the championship in second place, behind the French Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo.
