Ducati, Zarco takes orders: ‘Decisive on Marc Marquez’
Ducati, Zarco: “Helping Bagnaia is right, I won’t attack him unless a win is at stake”
Ducati centaur Johann Zarco after the MotoGp race in Thailand revealed that he had settled for fourth place to favor Pecco Bagnaia in his title race: “We have been talking about this with Ducati since Misano, that is, if it is possible not to attack Bagnaia unless a victory is at stake. It would have been risky to attack him going off the line, unfortunately I couldn’t catch them before the track dried, because when it became dry I had a really amazing pace.”
Zarco was publicly praised by Ducati’s general manager Dall’Igna, especially for managing to keep Marc Marquez away from Bagnaia (“Great job on Marc, he would have ruined our plans”): “Helping Bagnaia is right, my chance to play for the World Championship I threw it away a few months ago by having races that were not up to par.”
