F1, Valtteri Bottas defends Alfa Romeo
Valtteri Bottas stands with his team
Valtteri Bottas, Alfa Romeo’s Finnish driver, defended his team, still without points, at the end of the Singapore Grand Prix: “Considering where we started today, we probably got the best we could. Of course, it’s always frustrating when you end up just one position away from the points, but at least we avoided mistakes. Toward the end, the soft tires were starting to drop and I couldn’t get close to Gasly, but I think it was a good decision to try to use them in the second stint. I don’t think any other compound would have given us a better result,” said the Finn.
Bottas then added a thought about the upcoming Grand Prix, scheduled to take place at the Suzuka circuit in Japan on Sunday, Oct. 9: “We can still get some benefit from the weekend: we showed a good pace on Friday and we have some updates coming in Japan. Our car has shown to run a little better in dry conditions, so we are hoping for favorable weather in Suzuka to get off to a great start right away.”
