Former Juventus and Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain has decided to call it quits on soccer
Gonzalo Higuain quits: in an emotional press conference, the Argentine striker tearfully announced his farewell to Inter Miami and his retirement from playing soccer.
“Today I am here to tell you my story. The day has come to say goodbye to soccer. I feel I am quitting at my best moment, thanks to Inter Miami who gave me back my enthusiasm,” tearfully explained Pipita, whose contract expires with the MLS club on Dec. 31. The player was consoled by his teammates, who hugged him and paid their respects.
Oltrr 350 career goals, Higuain has played and scored for River Plate, Real Madrid, Napoli, Juventus, Milan, Chelsea and Inter Miami. Among the many competitions he won were three La Liga, three Scudettos, three Italian Cups, and one Europa League. He was Serie A’s top scorer in 2016, setting a new record of 36 goals, later equaled by Immobile.
