Lucrezia Stefanini’s splendid tournament in Monastir continues
Applause in Tunisia for Lucrezia Stefanini. The Azzurra, world number 152, after coming of the qualifiers beat the number 52 ranked WTA Magda Linette in the first round of the WTA 250 tournament in Monastir with a score of 2-6 6-4 6-4.
For Stefanini, class of 1998 from Carmignano, it was the first success on the circuit against a top 100 player, with such a respectable opponent as the Polish player, a finalist in Chennai. Stefanini, who has won thirteen of her last fourteen matches played, will now face the winner of the match between Tsurenko and Parry.
